I have over 10 years of experience working in classrooms and edtech and am passionate about education equity and building technology that adapts to the ever-changing education landscape. I currently work at Amplify, where I lead our User Research team. I’m an extroverted people-person who loves connecting with and understanding others. I enjoy in-depth user interviews, collaborative brainstorming sessions, and diving head-first into design sprints.
While working as a teacher in an under-resourced school in Oakland, CA, I was constantly dreaming up educational products I wished existed—products that would make my day-to-day easier so I could spend more time with my students and focus my energy on being a better teacher. This experience ignited my interest in product design, so when I left the classroom, I joined Freckle Education to build a new digital learning platform to help students learn math concepts. There, I learned the power of incorporating a user-first approach in product development. Thanks to my BA in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I have a strong foundation in research methods that ultimately helps me understand the behaviors, goals, and needs of users.
I’m curious by nature and always seeking to learn new things, whether by getting lost in a new book (currently reading Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products by Nir Eyal), taking an online course, or traveling the world on a solo adventure. I look forward to hearing and learning from you!
